Featured Content Template
As any of you who've been following will know, I wanted to add a "Featured Content" like display into Pro_News. (If you don't know what I mean by Featured Content, then do a search on DragonflyCMS for the post by greenday2k, or take a look at the original developers Dynamic Drive.)
Anyway, I've got it working, see screen capture alongside. Note this is ENTIRELY done in Pro_News template, no change to Pro_News code at all. A strong vindication as to the power of Pro_News templates! more ...

Somerford Cars
My newest website built for Somerford Cars in Little Somerford, UK. Somerford Cars is a small auto business which was in need of a little more advertising for its frequently changing sales vehicles.
A basic site, but exploiting the usual benefits of Pro_News: easy administration, update and maintenance because every content page is built using a single module - Pro_News.
Of course it uses Eestlane's incredible reDesign2 theme. more ...

Pro_News version 3.2: Lots of Improvement
I have been testing and using Pro_News 3.1 and I think this module has a powerful feature and need to be explored further, and of course need adding more great feature. I love too much for this Pro_News module, and that is why I am too interested to add some enhancements.
I almost complete my modification into version Pro_News version 3.1. Mostly, I made this modification based on the original News module such as "Related Topics" that I modified became "Related Articles" and "Notify Administrator of Pending Articles". The other modifications that I created is because of my need to manage article from Admin Panel, such as: Pagination link in Articles List page in, Forum ID selection in Category form, Show or hidden "No Image" holder in article page, Edit Forum ID from Submit Article page (just for edit/preview mode).
I am sure this will be useful to others who need this great module! more ...

Pro_News 3.1 Now Available to Sponsors & Members
Just to let everyone know that the latest and greatest Pro_News is now available, initially just for Sponsors, but now for all Registered Members
A lot of small but useful enhancements mostly, the sort of thing which makes building and running the site easier, even if you can't actually put your finger on exactly what changed. Most every annoyance I found when building Pro_News centric websites have been addressed, all minor though I must say, along with all the enhancements requested.
Plus the Submit Article screen has been made much more approachable. more ...

Norton & Brooksbank
This is recent a website I created for a client. It demonstrates many of the features incorporated into the latest versions of Pro_News. In particular, almost every page on the site is built with Pro_News, so the entire site can be maintained by the client with only 1 interface to learn. Not only does this make it easier and less error prone, it gives the client confidence in their ability to keep the entire site up-to-date. more ...

ChantillyExpat.com
This is a community based website that incorporates sites for a couple of local groups, including a school and the cricket club. Pro News can be seen in both the school (APARC) and the cricket club sections under Latest News. I've used one install of Pro News to run both sections, and removed the link to the overview of Pro News.
Next project will be to get Pro News running the whole news section of the website, as it's handling of pictures etc is so superior to the existing News module. Watch this space!
Site is ChantillyExpat.com. more ...

Pro_News Updated to 3.0.0.1
Please update to the latest release. v3.0.0.1 fixes an issue with display on the Home page if multiple Sections are used with differing templates. Unfortunately an error crept into to the 3.0 release just before release, when adding "No Article" error messages for Admins. The new release totally changes and improves the method used to display multiple templates on the same page, to prevent the display issues. more ...
Announcing Pro_News Sponsors' Forum
This is to announce a new forum dedicated to a group of members who have gone out of their way to help bring Pro_News to the community. Either by extensive testing, writing code, translating, or donating funds to help me develop Pro_News. In many cases these members have done most or all of the above.
This new forum is my way of saying thanks to these individuals. In the forum I'll be providing some snippets on how I use Pro_News, and few tricks to get the very best out of a Pro_News based website. more ...
