If you already have Pro_News 2.2 installed you will find the following useful new features:
- ability to display articles in order of Title, Rating, Number of Reads as well as Date
- option to restrict access to full article to registered members only
- a 'Promote' function to promote an existing Forum article to a Pro_News article
- improvements to the templates, offering better text wrap and image positioning
- Pro_News center blocks can now be displayed along Pro_News module
- new random article and latest article center blocks with templates
- option to have a different default image per Section
- Pro_News as Home module can display different Sections dependent on current domain name
along with a whole bunch of small improvements to make your work as administrator/webmaster that much easier.
Essentially Pro_News has grown beyond a News-based module to a general purpose Article-based module, in which some sections can function in news style displaying articles in descending date order, while others can display in alphabetic or other orders.
If you are new to Pro_News, then please give it a try. I think you will find that you can now create a viable website in DragonflyCMS with Pro_News as your only content module.
With the possible inclusion of Eestlane's phenomenal reDesign theme, and EHP Design's NBBCode module, both of which have been tested and modified to work well with Pro_News and vice-versa, you can have a first class website. Even Coppermine Photo Gallery images can be displayed via Pro_News photo gallery articles, so you visitors receive a single uniform and consistent CMS interface.
